Easter Sunday was just a lovely day! We had a good day, all day long. Here is a photo pictorial of the day:
The goods that the kids get on Easter morning. I hate to say it was from the Easter Bunny (try to keep him out of Easter Sunday), so this is just their Easter goods from Mom and Dad.
Don't they look wide eyed and awake?! Ha Ha
Okay, I know I am her mother, but she had the most killer baby blues. I love her little half smile quirky face in this photo. She is showing off her first "big girl" necklace. She was over the moon for it. And seriously, could I just have a fraction of that volume in my hair when I wake up in the morning??

Trying to get a good shot of the kids in their Easter Best is pretty dang hard. Had to show you some of their poses.
This wasn't forced. Priceless.

Mom and her baby girl.
Livy loving her "princess" dress.
Nice family photo. We chose to sport coordinating shades of purple. It just kind of happened and it worked out okay.

After church, we gathered at mom and dad's house for Easter Sunday dinner. We have the big kid table and then the little kid table. We are starting to get a little too big to all fit.
Classic easter grass cake. Yum.

I had been wanting to make these since I saw them last year. They are called Resurrection Rolls. It is dough wrapped around a marshmallow. When the rolls bake, the marshmallow melts and creates a hollow tomb. When you bite or cut into it, it is empty, symbolic of the tomb being empty because the Savior lives and isn't in the tomb. I loved the idea. Plus, they tasted delish too.
After dinner, we had a nice family time. We listened to Crayton re-give his talk he had given in church. Then we had a nice Easter lesson from Mom. It was all over the internet, but it was still a really lovely idea. Mom had an egg carton with plastic eggs in it. Inside of the eggs was a scripture and an item that represented parts of the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ. It was really nice to have a spiritual thought to tie the day all together. It is a fun tradition that I will do each year.

Then mom and dad each shared their testimonies with us. I think it was really good for the grandkids to hear their testimonies.

Then came our family egg hunt, with REAL hard boiled eggs (and some candy). Thayne, Spencer, Tommy and Weston had fun hiding the eggs. The kids had a blast and enjoyed the afternoon outside. Such nice weather, it was a perfect day.

This was pretty funny. Kenzie found eggs up in the tree and then spent some time trying to get them out.

Thayne and Tommy had a water fight. I honestly didn't think Thayne would soak tommy in his nice clothes, but I was wrong. They both had fun.
I love this holiday, it is so meaningful and hopeful.
