Happy Halloween

We had a fun time this year. Mom was a classic Witch this year as Howie is just discovering how much fun Halloween is. Dad was a snowboarder. That may not seem like a very odd costume for Halloween, but a snowboarder in St. George, UT makes for a good laugh. Howie was a fireman and we were surprised at how many compliments he got on his costume. We had a great time at the ward Trunk or Treat, evidenced by the decorated trunk (I always get into this each year). Then we went door to door to allow Howie to experience his first try at knocking on the door and saying "trick or treat". He LOVED it! Well, enjoy. Hope your spooky night was a 'haunting' good time as well.
Trunk or Treak! The photo doesn't show the 'witches brew' very well, but it was complete with dry ice potions. Candy was dispersed from the mini man.

This was our family trick or treating door to door.

Happy Halloween!

Howie stirring the 'witch's brew'. His face cracks me up.

Catch up Time

Well, I am sorry that I have neglected my blogging responsibilities. Things have been a LITTLE busy around here. But that is life, and I am sure that you all are just a busy. To recap since last posting (see if I can do it in one breath??!!): Went home (Oregon) for youngest brother, Logan's, Missionary homecoming, helped tackle a master project of cleaning out the farm shop!! and played in grandma's dunking tub and threw a shower for sister Becky for her upcoming weddding, came home and found out that sister Sheree had her baby on the 15th of Aug, found out the wonderful news the Tommy got into the nursing program at Dixie State College (and had to start in two days!), celebrated my Birthday August 20th, went to Tommy's work bar-be-que end of Aug, went hiking with my sister and her fiancé Mohammed on Labor Day weekend, took howie to a coworker's girls' birthday party, drove to Oregon for my sister Becky's wedding on Sept 28, 2007 (way to much fun to describe in this little post), I got to visit with my sister Sheree at Becky's wedding (visiting from Iowa and got to hold her new little bundle of joy, Briggs Schulthies Dittmer), the next day after the wedding, had a hot dog and smores roast in the back yard at my parents house with all of the leftover wedding family and guests where Riken celebrated his birthday with fireworks and a pair of new cowboy boots, enjoyed conference with the in laws in Mesquite and decorated Halloween cookies with the family, threw a shower for my friend Brook on Oct 9 who is getting married in Nov, and this last weekend attended Tommy's 10 year class reunion, the homecoming game on Friday night and the reunion dinner on Saturday night (will post those photos later) and tried to keep up with normal day to day life in between!! So, that is what happened to us! Whewwwww deep breath...... enjoy.

Best of Luck to the Johnson's

We had our last dinner with Tara and Ben Johnson for a while. They are moving to Ohio. Howie is going to be sad because he always asks me "can we go to zetta's house and play?" Best of Luck Ben in the Ph.D program. We will have to make a trip out there sometime in the next four years.

Do you think Howie is going to miss his best friend Zetta?

Becky Bridal Shower in Oregon

These last two months have been CRAZY BUSY! Too many trips and events going on to keep on top of it all. So, here is a few photos of my sister Becky's Bridal shower we had for her in Oregon on August 11. Mohammed and Becky answered people's questions while a few participants were trying their hand at a make-shift attempt to duplicate henna. It was all good in fun and the whole point was that we had an enjoyable time with them. We had to send Mohammed out of the room while we opened presents. Fun was had by all.

Some of the shower guests. Tonya painting Tammy's hand, our version of henna!

Becky and her new Cuisinart Food Processor! The reason Mohammed had to leave the room. Our henna participants

Back row: Teniele, Tammy, Lori, (missing-not pictured=Krista) Barbara

Front Row: Lori and Becky.

Becky and Mohammed received a racey gift that was not appropriate for the shower. I love the reaction from Becky, Mohammed wanted to know what was going on.

Now he understands!

Elder Schulthies' Homecoming

Welcome back from the Phillippeans! We have missed you for two years, but now you are back. Funny that this in only half of the family! He Returned with Honor. We'll give you a few days to adjust and then off to college at BYU-Idaho again in September.

Back: Van, Susan, Weston, Lori, Spencer, Grandma Joan, Mohammed, Becky, Barabara (mom) Elder Schulthies (Logan), Tommy, Vaughn (dad), hiding Creighton, Stoney, Maria, and Kensi.

So in honor of your return Logan, we quickly the next day planned a water-skiiing trip up to the reservoir. Ahhh, feel the water on your skin again. You still got it. Even, after two years, Logan, you still got the skills. Logan on the wakeboard.

Peace Brother

Grandma Schulthies, since you live so far away, this is so that you don't miss out on Howie talking and growing up too fast without you around. Tommy has been teaching howie some pretty funny things. Mom came home from work and found out that the couch has been turned into a bike. This made my day! Hope it puts a smile on your face too. -Tara

Okay, I have tried multiple times to get this video uploaded to my blog, but have had no success. I guess you can go to my other site where it is stored and watch it there. Some times technology frustrates me. Click here to watch the video. Enjoy!

Random Family Photo

Rushton Family Photo June 2007

Memorial Weekend

For the holiday weekend, we traveled to Provo and stayed with Becky. I took my SSW test and passed (sigh of relief) and then we also had a 90th birthday party for Tommy's grandpa Clyde Rushton from Washington. I will post more of that later. But I thought I would get some photos on of Howie and Becky making blueberry pancakes for us in their Moroccan pajamas.

Mo, this one is for you. Howie and Becky making Whole Wheat Blueberry Pancakes.
They were freaking yummy.

I love this photo.
Howie loves to help out, especially cooking and cleaning.

Howie, Tommy, Tara and my sister Becky on the steps of her provo home.

Fish in the Sea

So, we were going to Mesquite to go swimming at pappa and grandma rushton's house when we happen to see this wonderful ship, well, okay so sub. It was a perfect photo opp since howie's swimming suit is Finding Nemo. Howie kept saying, "nemo bus". We think it was Disneyland advertising for their new ride, but we are not sure.

Summer Time Water Fun

Splash Pad in Ivins- The boys are ready for some water fun! Check out Howie's face. He is yelling "YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS I am having fun."

After Tommy got off of work today, we went to a splash pad and Howie and Tommy got to play in the water. Howie LOVED it! He loved putting a stick in the hole and waiting for the water to shoot it up and then he would run away. I love my boys.

Flowers

One of Howie's favorite things to do right now is pick this pretty flower, and then blow on it and make it diappear. Caught in the act, check out his concentration while trying to blow on the flower. When we take walks, we are constantly stopping to blow on the flowers he finds.

Easter Party in Oregon

After a long rest or maybe neglect of posting, here are some of the fun pictures from our trip to Oregon.
Here are the cousins waiting anxiously for the hunt to begin. L to R : Jaynee, Kailani, McKenzie, and Howie.
