Gotta love Mother's Day. I was spoiled from the family with a new decoration the kids picked out from my favorite store, a personal cheesecake and a new power tool: an orbital sander! Lest you think this is a lame gift, let me tell you, it's not! And I may be in love. With all the projects I want to build from Knock Off Wood, this little gem will come in handy and is already my new BFF. This is the one day that I can ask them to do the dishes 'because it's mother's day" and they say okay. I hope someday that they will want to do these things for me because they love me and want to, not just because it is mother's day. However, I'll manipulate the day for some r&r until that time comes.

I've been meaning to tell you what a great job you did on your piano bench! I am seriously impressed that you built it yourself! And I love getting cool things like that as gifts from my hubby and fam...although I'm not too skilled with the power tools yet! Alan got me an IPod Touch and luckily I have Zac to show me the ropes and give me quick tutorials on it. I'm in love with it already and can tell that it will come in handy in lots of ways! And good job on doing that race...I am so not a runner, but wish I was. I'm slowly trying to work on it. I'm up to about 6 minutes in a row now....haha! Happy Mother's Day and I look forward to your next home project so don't forget to share. I'm in love with the turquoise headboard from that blog...very cool!

So I didn't have your email address, but I'll be going to UT around the last week of May and was wondering if I could possibly stay overnight with you guys on my way back - to break up the trip.
