Cousin Camp 2011 July 11-14th

We held our 1st annual Schulthies Cousin Camp at Juliene's house. It was a nice, fun/activity packed couple of days. We had to wear our cousin camp shirt each day (we'd launder them every night). You could definitely pick us out of a crowd! We had family photos first off.

Lori and girls, Me and kids, Maria and kids, Juliene and boys

Wade and family and sheree and kids + grandma schulthies
We started out by making our pouches, decorating them, that would keep all of our treasures this week.
Later, the older kids and Juliene collected walking sticks. We took the bark off and then engraved them with a wood burner and decorated them with beads and feathers. They turned out pretty cool.

There was plenty of hanging out during the camp, which was nice and relaxing.

lots of cousin playtime and playing around!

(20 cousins present, ranging from 6mo-14years, not all of the cousins could attend, but most of them)

We played lots of games and then had cowboy games. Including hats, horshoes, relays, races, etc

One evening, we went into town, had dinner at the park, played and then went to the petting zoo. It was a fun evening and we got lots of second glances.

We made fruit loop necklaces so we would have a snack on our hike up to booster station behind Juliene's home. We also used our walking sticks.

It was quite the hike, but had the most spectacular view.

After that heat, some R&R was in order. Enter in Slip and Slide!

One evening we had activities that included a bee bee gun shoot (shooting various pop cans, milk jugs and items. Wade was very good at helping the kids with gun safety. It was the first time Howie has shot a gun before. I don't know what he thought. He did hit a can and was elated!

While the bee bee gun shoot was happening, Juliene was heading up the stepping stones impressions.
Cousin Camp was a blast and ended with some great fireworks show. Thanks Dale for helping with this. Thanks Juliene and Dale for hosting and planning such an awesome couple of days. Memories with the cousins: Priceless!
