EASTER 2009

Easter is a great time of the year! We love it. This year was a little low key, which was nice. We went to Mesquite last weekend for an egg hunt with grandpa Rushton's work. We have been a few years now and it is nice. Howie cleaned up nicely. Howie got to hang out with Ryan and Keith, his cousins. Afterwards, we went to their house and watched the afternoon session of Conference.
We then recycled the plastic eggs and used them the next evening at our friends, the Boren's, for a BBQ get-to-gether. Howie, Taylor and Kaitlyn all had fun hunting the eggs.

Look at my domestication!

I finally had time to play in the kitchen this weekend. I attempted to make the cinnamon chip bread that I LOVE at Great Harvest. Howie was my little helper with this project. Mine isn't a perfect match, but it sure does taste amazing. Yummy toast and we can't wait to try making french toast with it. If you want to try the recipe, click here (of course this is the site of my favorite food storage guru ever).

end of the month recap

Seems like this month passed me by too fast. I couldn't find time to document along the way, so here is a sampler of what we did this month.
Daddy's buddy is on the paramedics crew and offered to let Howie come and see what an ambulance looks like on the inside. Howie had a blast and thoroughly enjoyed himself. Thanks Ty for letting us do this.
St. George has some awesome parks. We enjoy visiting them frequently. My fav is the one of Howie holding Olivia, they had just slid down the slide, happy bubble blowing girl. This is also a unique photo. It is one of the rare times Olivia isn't wearing pink!Splash pad in downtown St. George. Playing with our neighbor Carson.

WILD THING. I had no idea it was this hard to do a baby girls' hair. I hope when her hair is longer, it gets easier. Here's to wishful thinking.

5 Months

Look who is already five months old! Time is flying by too quickly.

Draper Temple Open House

I have never been through an open house and really wanted to experience it. I wanted Howie to see it too. So, I packed up the two kids and made a record fast trip up to SLC on Thursday night and back home on Friday evening. Record fast considering we were traveling with children. I did not make this journey alone. I took my good friend Martha, her daughter Kimi and her son Braxton. So, three women + three children (4, 10mo, 5 mo) = fun, crazy, tiring trip. But so worth it. It is beautiful, smaller than I thought it looked, but just beautiful.
After the temple, we met up with Jamie at Macaroni Grill (LOVE THAT PLACE!), enjoyed a little shopping, and met up with the Salt Lake Rushton clan so Howie could see his cousins. Then we came home. Whew! Whirlwind of a trip, but very memorable.

Howie was a big helper, holding both Olivia and Braxton's bottles. It only happened once when both needed to eat at the same time.
