Sheree's Endowment

Sheree selected this day for a reason, it was 12-12-12, easy to remember.  A nice day (all things considering in December) for the temple. A few bumps regarding enough seating in the session, but things were finally settled and the session was lovely. Sheree, you seemed so calm and prepared. It was nice to be able to spend so much time in the celestial room (waiting for next session to get out to greet friends that came to support sheree that had to be bumped). At one point, it was just the family, Tammy and a patron worker. Pretty cool to have that reverent time together.

Becky and Juliene, you were greatly missed. Hopefully, we can ALL be together in the temple soon at Logan's wedding (hint hint, nevermind; Logan doesn't listen to any teasing, hinting, or straight to his face suggestions).

Howie's School Christmas Music Program

Howie did a great job.  His whole elementary school did for that matter.  They sang beloved Christmas songs.  Howie's grade did cute songs: I want to be an Elf and Snowmen Jump. They also sang many other group ones.  He did great.  I always love to attend his programs.  Grandma Schulthies, with cousins Ely and Sis were there.  Even Grandma Joan came.  I had Livy and Abagail with me.  Tommy even made it this year.

 

Nyssa Nite Christmas Parade

We went to the Nyssa Night Christmas Parade.  I honestly I admit it was my first time.  I had never been before.  It was cold, but we planned ahead and brought hot chocolate with us.  Turned out to be a great hand warmer as well.  I kept playing with my camera and couldn't figure out how to get any good photos, resorted back to the flash to get anything usable to document with.  Sis and Briggs were on the Malheur County Head Start Float, but on the opposite side of the street we were on.  However, we did get to see Brady and Tammy march by, Brady in his scout uniform.

Howie reached his GOAL!!

Remember that goal way back when.....April....when Howie decided to earn money for an Ipod by selling chicken eggs?  Well, starting with little chicks, many bags of feed, lots of work chores, peddling eggs and months later, Mr. Howie finally accomplished his goal.  He saved $100 to buy a used Ipod and is thrilled to death.  It also proved to be an awesome way to tangibly teach tithing too.  We took his heavy envelope with change and lots of bills and cashed it in for a $100 bill.  He told me that he had never seen one in his whole life (of almost 8 years).  He wanted me to take a picture of it.

Well earned.

p.s. we can now use the next income from the eggs to pay for a few bags of feed!!!

Anniversary

We went out for a movie and dinner for our anniversary. We went and saw The Odd Life of Timothy Green.  What a great family movie.  Then we ate at Barbacoa in Boise and ***LOVED*** it!  I love food, so I had to take photos of it all.

 

Started out with mini tacos, carne asade, shrimp, barbacoa and tinga chicken.  Tasty, but even the photo doesn't show how small they were.  Two bite tacos, never seen them that small before. 

I had the sea bass citrus special, forgot all the fancy lingo they described it with, along with a toasted tortillas crusted chili relleno side.  It was tasty.  However, Tommy had the best meal.  Wish I had gotten that! 

He got the other special, Steak and Surf; a Manhattan Steak(we learned it was the eye of the NY steak) wrapped in bacon on a hot rock with cognac sauce along with huge butterfly shrimp.  The hot rock is 700 degrees and continues to cook your steak, so they under cook it and bring it out to you.  It was divine.  Tommy would cut off a piece, if it was too rare, he would leave it on the rock for a bit and turn it over, then it would be perfect for eating.  He said the cool thing about his dinner was that even his last piece of steak was hot and perfect. It was the best steak I have ever tried and I kept trying it to make sure :)

We weren't going to have dessert because we were stuffed, but decided to splurge.  We asked what our serving recommended and tried it.  It was an orange panna cotta with fig, toffee bits, honey and a baked brie.  Oh my goodness.....It was killer good.  I am not a huge fan of those items, but it was perfect together and complimented each other well.  Even Tommy liked it.

 

 

It was a fabulous restaurant.  We had a great night.  Happy Anniversary to us, yea for 11 years!!
