Givens Hot Springs

We had a great time at Givens Hot Springs.  We had bought a groupon coupon back in January and decided to use it before it expired.  The kids loved it.  Livy asks when can we go back again.

 

Visiting our baby chicks

We are getting chickens.  When they were hatched, Tommy's coworker Jo took them to rasie them with her babies.  We went to visit them and see how they were doing. The kids love them and I think this is going to be a fun project for Howie.

Eric Carle for 1st graders

I was asked to help howie's teacher with an art project. You probably are familiar with Eric Carle, the children's author of The Hungry Caterpillar.  The kids were going to actually make the paper they were going to use for their books.  I helped Mrs. Martin with the kids "making" their paper.  It was different ways to color and texture paper.  We did two kinds while I was there.  One way was to spray paint with a spray bottle onto paper.  Another way was to cover the whole paper with paint and then use the eraser of a pencil to make squiggles through the paper. Before I arrived to help, they had glues tissue paper squares onto a large sheet of paper to form another kind of texture.  I really thing they enjoyed this project.  I only remembered to get one photo of Howie since I was busy helping the kids make the pencil paper.  Such a fun  project.

Easter Sunday + Birthdays

Sat night I put pink foam curlers in Livy's hair.  It was so stinking cute and of course, forgot to take pictures of the finished product.  However, she had a blast in the curlers.  She is such a ham.

The crazy thing, she has my hair.  All that curl and it was flat by the end of church.

I was trying to get a picture of them together, but Howie was at his max and had had it.

Livy on the other hand, wanted to keep hamming it up.

After dinner, the kids were super excited for our family egg hunt.

Brady had even come over and got to participate. Fun!

What was cool was all the kids afterwards dumped out their bags and then divided up the goods evenly between them all.  It was fun to see them share.

We celebrated Kailiai and Abagail's birthdays even though their birthday isn't until wednesday.  It was perfect timing to have lots of family there.

As is Schulthies tradition, we assembled the spanking line.

There is a lot of us, the line is getting longer all the time.

 Happy Birthday girls and Happy Easter.  Holiday are always better when spent with family.  We love the Easter Holiday and look forward to it each year.
